Shawn Schramski and Sean Gordon ​become co-owners, preserving the RNR Interpreting name as a tribute to Dave's contributions and the strong reputation he had built within the Deaf and interpreting communities. Maintaining the company name reflected a commitment to the values, relationships, and foundation established under Dave's leadership.

Sean Gordon
Co-Owner

Originally from Ogdensburg, New York, Alyssa relocated to Alaska in 2023. Her connection to American Sign Language (ASL) began through learning from Deaf refugees and members of the Deaf community in Syracuse, New York. In 2021, she graduated from Onondaga Community College with an Associate’s degree in American Sign Language. Following graduation, Alyssa continued her education and experience in the field by tutoring linguistics, processing skills, and introductory interpreting courses. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in ASL-English Interpretation from the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID), where she graduated in 2024 while also earning an EIPA score of 4.3.
As an interpreter, Alyssa has gained experience across a variety of interpreting settings and continues to develop her practice through collaboration and feedback from Deaf consumers, colleagues, and the broader Deaf and interpreting communities. As a hard of hearing interpreter, she brings a unique perspective to RNR Interpreting and a strong understanding of the importance of communication preferences, accessibility, and client autonomy. Her knowledge and experience contribute to RNR’s continued growth, functionality, and collaboration with the interpreter community. Alyssa is committed to providing interpreting services that are thoughtfully tailored to the needs of each assignment while honoring the preferences and autonomy of those she serves.
Alyssa remains dedicated to supporting RNR Interpreting and its commitment to meaningful communication access throughout Alaska. She strives to approach each assignment with professionalism, collaboration, and respect for the diverse communication needs of Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing individuals. Her educational background, community connections, and continued dedication to the interpreting profession reflect her commitment to providing quality services while contributing to the continued growth and success of RNR Interpreting.

Originally from Davao City, Philippines, Lorenz has worked in customer service and administrative support for several years. His background includes customer service, sales, virtual assistance, appointment coordination, and interpreter scheduling. Throughout his career, he has enjoyed helping people, staying organized, and making sure things run smoothly behind the scenes.

At RNR Interpreting Services, Lorenz helps coordinate interpreter appointments and supports both clients and interpreters with scheduling and day-to-day operations. He believes that clear communication, reliability, and teamwork make all the difference, and he takes pride in being someone others can count on. Whether it's solving a scheduling issue or assisting a client, he always aims to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible.


Originally from Pullman, Washington, Sean Gordon moved to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1984 and attended school through the Alaska State School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing program. He graduated from West Anchorage High School in 1986 and then moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, to pursue higher education. Sean attended North Central University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. He remained in Minneapolis for approximately eight years before deciding to return to Alaska in March 1994.
As co-owner, Sean faced the challenge of guiding the company through the pandemic and the years that followed. Despite financial hardships, changing client demands, and operational obstacles, he remained focused on sustaining the business while continuing to provide high-quality interpreting services throughout Alaska. Through perseverance, strategic planning, and a strong commitment to accessibility, Sean gradually improved the company's operations and profitability. His leadership has helped position RNR Interpreting for long-term stability and growth while continuing to uphold the legacy established by Dave Robertson.
Today, Sean remains dedicated to leading RNR Interpreting with integrity, innovation, and a continued commitment to communication access for all. His journey from Pullman, Washington, to Alaska, and from community member to business owner, reflects resilience, dedication, and a commitment to building a strong future while honoring the company's past.


Shawn Schramski is a co-owner of RNR Interpreting, LLC and a dedicated advocate for the Deaf, hard of hearing, and Deafblind community. Originally from Whitewater, Wisconsin, Shawn attended the Wisconsin School for the Deaf in Delavan, Wisconsin. He began learning Signing Exact English (SEE) during elementary school and later learned American Sign Language (ASL) in middle school. His passion for language and education led him to attend St. Paul Technical College, where he studied from 1986 to 1991 and earned certificates in Graphic Arts and Teaching ASL.
In 1995, Shawn relocated to Anchorage, Alaska, where he worked as a postal carrier. Two years later, in 1997, he began teaching ASL at the University of Alaska, where he has served as an ASL Instructor for nearly three decades. In 2000, he expanded his teaching career by becoming an ASL Instructor at Alaska Pacific University, where he taught for seven years.
Shawn lives in Eagle River, Alaska, and is a devoted dog lover, husband, and father of three children. He also serves as a board member of the Alaska Deaf Council, further demonstrating his commitment to supporting and advocating for the Deaf community throughout Alaska. 
As co-owner of RNR Interpreting, Shawn's mission is to provide the highest quality interpreting services while ensuring that the communication needs of Deaf and hard of hearing individuals are met with professionalism, respect, and excellence. His lifelong commitment to the Deaf community, combined with decades of teaching, leadership, and community service experience, continues to guide his vision for the future of RNR Interpreting.
